Panola Playhouse - Sardis, MS

Open since 1962, the theatre is one of the longest, continually-running, live theatres in the states of Mississippi.  It seats 136 and puts on five productions annually. Productions include comedies, dramas, musicals, and children’s shows.

January

MLK Memorial Parade - Batesville, MS

Memorial parade celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in downtown Batesville. Date to be announced.

February

UKC winter Classic - Batesville, MS

The UKC Winter Classic night hunt and bench show brings coon dogs from across the nation to Batesville Civic Center. Date to be announced.

Showoff on the Square Open Car Show - Batesville, MS

An open car show is held in downtown Batesville year.  The 2021 event will be held on Saturday, April 3.

May

SpringFest - Batesville, MS

Held on the weekend after Mother’s Day, this annual music festival is free to the public. Two-days of carnival rides and games, music, and food are held in the Square. Panola County Humane Society’s Racing for Paws 5k is held the Saturday morning of SpringFest. Registration is available at www.racesonline.com. St. Jude Bass Classic - Sardis, MS

Held at Sardis Lake on Memorial Day weekend, this fishing tournament benefits the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. For more information, visit ST. JUDE BASS CLASSIC.

Juneteenth Celebration - Sardis, Ms

Juneteenth is a holiday on June 19th celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States. This annual event is held on Main Street in Sardis.

August

Pep Rally on the Square - Batesville, MS

Kick off back to School with the Pep Rally on the Square! Local teams unite to celebrate sportsmanship as the community comes out to support Batesville schools’ football teams, cheerleaders and band.

June - September

Square Market - Batesville, MS

Square Market is a community market offering local produce, fresh baked goods, arts/crafts and various canned items. The market is open on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m from the first Wednesday in June through the last Wednesday in September.  Interested in volunteering or participating in the Farmer’s Market? Sardis Open Car Show - Sardis, MS

Located on Main Street, the festival includes food vendors, door prizes, awards, arts and crafts, and an open car show with many makes and models of vehicles. The Car Show is organized by local Mississippi Delta Street Rodders. Visit the Sardis Chamber of Commerce Facebook page for more information.

Scare on the Square - Batesville, MS

Held on the last Saturday in October on the square in Batesville, this event includes a costume walk, a custom contest with prizes and a trick or trunk provided by local businesses, churches, and civic groups. Main Street Music Concert Series - BAtesville, MS

Every Thursday evening in October, local artists take to the stage as family and friends gather for a “Square Tailgate.”

Holiday Open House - Batesville, MS

Sunday, November 15th, the city of Batesville will be buzzing with Christmas spirit! Mosey down to the Batesville Square, write a letter to Santa; enjoy a magical carriage ride through the streets of downtown Batesville; snap a photo with our roaming Santa; be sure to vote for your favorite Gingerbread House! Enjoy a treat from Off Tracks Dairy Bar or have lunch at Bread and Butter or Court Street Patio. And of course, SHOP SHOP SHOP at the stores! Be sure to venture OFF the square into the city for other wonderful gift shops. Be sure to check our website in 2021 for updates for rail events. Heflin House Museum Game day - Sardis, MS

The Heflin House is hosting a game day on Friday, November 20 at their beautiful historic location at 304 South Main Street, Sardis, MS. Visit and peruse the large selection of gifts from featured various Mississippi vendors and choose from yummy baked goods and crafts.

The game day is open from 10:30 A. M. – until. Brunch will be served, the cost is $20. Bring your friends to form a group of 4 to play games such as Rook and Bunco.

The Heflin House and museum is a vital piece of Sardis historical heritage. The game day and other various fund-raising efforts help maintain and sustain the home and museum to continue to preserve the rich history of the community. The Train to Christmas Town - Batesville, MS

Based on the beloved children’s book, the Train to Christmas Town, our holiday train ride that departs from beautiful downtown Batesville, recreates the storybook tale on the train ride that is sure to become a family favorite tradition!  Trains will run from the Batesville Depot at various times and dates beginning November 16th and running through December 24th.  Learn more and reserve your ride today by clicking HERE.

Area Christmas Parades Throughout the County

Every Christmas season, local businesses, churches, organizations and groups enter floats into the Panola County town’s Christmas parades! Here is the 2020 schedule:

DEC 8 – Batesville Christmas Parade @ 6pm – Theme “Christ the Hope of Christmas”.
